Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, guest of honour at the event, addressed  the importance of continued collaboration among communities to strengthen social cohesion during challenging times. “Even in uncertain times, we are at peace because of our ability to pull together and respond collectively,” he noted.

Praising Singapore’s long standing culture of communal harmony, he added, “Singapore stands apart as a relative oasis of peace and cohesion. This social resilience is one of our greatest assets, painstakingly built over generations.”

The senior minister also commended the Dawoodi Bohra community’s role in promoting mutual understanding, philanthropy, and interfaith harmony. Their communal meal, he remarked,  was a reflection of solidarity and brotherhood.
